Mildred R. Williams, 95, of Dundee passed away Sunday, September 16, 2018 at home surrounded by her family following a period of declining health.
Mildred was born Oct. 30, 1922 in Canton, Ohio, the daughter of the late John and Julia (Schildtz) Perdue.
She retired from the former Raintree Cleaning Center in New Philadelphia following 32 years of service. During World War II, Mildred worked in Canton as a driller on B-29 aircraft. She enjoyed spending time with her family that included her grandchildren, great grandchildren and her dogs. She loved helping people and always put others before herself. She enjoyed her church family at the Barrs Mill Church of God where she taught Sunday school for many years. She will be remembered for having a heart for others. She would always make herself available to take people to doctors appointments and grocery shopping.
In addition to her parents, Mildred was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Raymond T. Williams who died Aug. 22, 1993 along with four brothers, Ernest, Neal, Clarence and Delzie Perdue and a sister, Ethel Spencer.
She will be sadly missed by her family including her four children, Sharon (Charlie) Miller of New Philadelphia, Tim (Phyllis) Williams, Diane (Rick) Aniol both of Dundee, and Darlene (Donald) Gintz of Walnut Creek along with eleven grandchildren, twenty one great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.
Funeral services celebrating the life of Mildred will be held Saturday, Sept. 22, 2018 beginning at 10 am in the Barrs Mill Church of God with Pastor Gary Swogger officiating. A reception will follow the service in the church fellowship hall. A graveside service will be held Saturday beginning at 1:30pm in the Ridgecrest Memory Gardens in Dover. Friends may call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover on Friday from 5-8pm.
