Mildred Richard Douds, 98, of Dover, died Thursday, Sept. 11, 2003, in Park Village Health Care Center.
Born May 13, 1905, in Dover, she was a graduate of Dover High School, and was employed for many years at the former Stallard Food Market of Dover. Additionally, Mildred worked at the former Mason�(TM)s Foodliner, also of Dover.
She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Dover, and the American Association of Retired Persons. She enjoyed camping at Long Lake near Wooster, and loved to entertain family and friends.
Mildred is survived by several nieces and nephews, including special nieces, Gloria Warner of Dover, Ellen Brundage of Willard, and Iona Crites of North Carolina.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Walter Richard in 1978, and by her second husband, George Douds in 1995; a sister, Helen Douds; and two brothers, Dale and Homer Kerr.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, Sept. 13, at 11 a.m., in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home, Dover, with Pastor Brian K. Nunnally officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Dover. Following the committal, there will be a meal in Grace Lutheran Church. Visitation will be Friday (today), Sept. 12, 2003, 6-8 p.m., in the funeral home.
