Miles W. �~Cliff�(TM) Clifford, age 79, of 804 Cross Street, Dover, passed away Saturday, June 16, 2007, with his loving family around him. A generous, loving and always giving person, Cliff surrounded himself with the people and things he loved the most.

Born in Rivesville, West Virginia, on November 5, 1927, he was a son of the late Miles and Anna Sago Clifford. Cliff served in the U.S. Army during the Second World War, and married the former Rita Jerome on July 20, 1953, who survives him. He was the proud father of William (wife, Sharon) Clifford, and Debra Clifford both of Bowling Green, Ohio. Cliff is also survived by his two cherished grandsons Alex, age 19, and Zach, age 16. Additionally, he is survived by a brother, Bob Clifford. Cliff loved and admired his many nieces, nephews and close friends, as they loved him.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters Francis Thomas and Dolores Sterling, along with his brother, Ed Clifford.

When his children were young, Cliff was a scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts of America, and an avid outdoorsman. He loved to fish and taught his son and grandsons to love and respect the outdoors. Cliff shared his love of fishing with close friend Zane Spangler, and his love of swimming with Sam Miceli.

He was employed at D.S. Lahmers and Dover Chemical, and was also self-employed in the antique business at the Route 250 Antique Mall. Cliff was an expert craftsman, refinishing furniture and always enjoyed the hunt of finding treasured items for customers and friends. He strived to support his family and provide them with the experiences and opportunities he most valued.

Cliff was an active member of St. Joseph�(TM)s Parish, St. Joseph�(TM)s Senior Citizens, the Veterans of Foreign Wars of Dover along with the Roswell Bingo Club.

A funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, June 19, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph�(TM)s Church with Fr. William L. Arnold officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Dover, where military rites will be conducted by the Dover post of the V.F.W. Following the committal, there will be a reception in the Family Life Center of St. Joseph�(TM)s Church. Family and friends are invited to call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover on Monday, June 18, 5 �" 8 p.m. A Christian wake service will be held Monday at 7:45 p.m. in the funeral home.
