Mina Augusta Farbizo

Mina Augusta Farbizo, 93, of Dover, Ohio died Saturday, May 3, 2003 at Union Hospital following a brief illness.

Born November 21, 1909 in Franklin Township, Tuscarawas County, Ohio she was the daughter of the late Martin and Elizabeth Krantz Marburger. She was the last of ten children.

Mina was a member of the First United Church of Christ in New Philadelphia and it�(TM)s Miriam Circle. She was a graduate of Strasburg High School. She enjoyed growing tomatoes and gardening. She also enjoyed sewing and reading. She loved spending time with her family, particularly her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence A. Farbizo with whom she was married 48 years. He died November 27, 1984.

She is survived by three children Neva F. Greenwald of Jackson, Mississippi, Marta C. Vassiles of Dover and Thomas M. (Judy) Farbizo of New Philadelphia; Four grandchildren Chrysanthe E. Vassiles of Dover, Amanda C. Farbizo and Michael A. Farbizo both of New Philadelphia and Christopher (Tina) Farbizo of Reynoldsburg, Ohio along with many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Emily Eleonora Farbizo three brothers, Charles, Rudy, and Philip Marburger and six sisters, Eleonora Bitikofer, Emma Marburger, Johanna Baker, Mary Sterner, Florence Marburger, and Nettie Kennedy.

A memorial service celebrating Mina�(TM)s life will be held Friday, May 9, 2003 at 11 am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home at Dover with Pastor Jim Borton officiating. A reception will follow at the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center. The family will receive friends on Friday from 10-11 am. At her request, cremation will take place and inurnment will be in the Calvary Cemetery at New Philadelphia.
