Mona L. Robinson, 71, of Dover died at home on March 3, 2024.
Born on May 10, 1952, Monie was the daughter of Frederick C. and Lois ( Regula) Espenschied.
She graduated from Dover High School in 1970. While attending Kent State University, she met and married the love of her life and soul mate Roger Robinson. Together they celebrated 50 years of marriage in October.
After graduating from KSU with a degree in education, she taught English at Newcomerstown Middle School for ten years.
Monie was a lifelong theater enthusiast. Her love of performing started in high school and blossomed at Kent State Tusc’s theater department both as a student and later as an adult. Monie was a kind and generous person. She loved all animals, dogs, and especially her adopted cats. She would never turn away a stray cat in need. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed watching cooking and home decorating shows. An avid Cleveland Guardians fan, she rarely missed a televised game.
In addition to her husband Roger, Monie is survived by sister Sandy Espenschied of Dover, brother Terry (Marcia) Espenschied of Great Falls Virginia, nephews Kevin Devore of Dover, Aaron (Diana) Espenschied of Fairfax Virginia, niece Marla (Ben Clement) Espenschied of San Francisco California, sister-in-law Kandy Richardson of Canton, great nephews David (Lindsey) Morris of Dover, and Tony (Cindy) Morris of Lodi, Ohio and special friend Lance Pennington of Washington D.C.
Monie was preceded in death by her parents, father and mother in law Ted and Virginia Robinson, brother Mike Espenschied, sister Cheryl Espenschied, niece and nephew Kathy and Bobby Espenschied, maternal grandparents C.Eugene Regula and Hilda Regula Steiner, step grandfather Walter Steiner, and paternal grandparents Homer and Edna Espenschied.
Mona L. Robinson Cremation has been entrusted to the Toland Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover. As per Monie’s wishes there will be no calling hours or memorial services. To sign an online guestbook for Monie, visit the obituary link on the funeral home’s website.
