Nadine L. "Deanie" Wagner, 80, a life-long resident of Dover, died Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2009, in Park Village Health Care Center surrounded by her family.
Born, May 17, 1929, on Chestnut St., she was a daughter of the late Ray and Opal Robinette Kreighbaum. Nadine graduated in 1949 from Dover High School and went to work for Marsh Industries, followed by the former National Bank of Dover. She retired from Marlowe's Drug Store, where she was employed for many years. Most importantly, Nadine was a homemaker a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Nadine was a faithful member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Dover. She loved to play Bridge with her friends, as well as sewing belonging to a "stitching club." She also very much enjoyed working in the yard around her home and growing flowers.
Survivors include two sons, Mark E. (Jeanie) Wagner of Dover, and Kevin P. (Melinda) Wagner of New Philadelphia; six grandchildren, Michael (Janet), Joel (Allyson) and Ryan (Lauren) Wagner, Dana (Bryan) Wagner-Cecil, Heather (Steve) Mendell and Josh Korns; ten great-grandchildren; a brother, Jerry Kreighbaum of Middleburg Heights; a sister, Kay (Robert) Smith of Garrettsville; several nieces and nephews; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; and a special close-knit gang from the Dover High School Class of 1949.
In addition to her parents, Nadine was preceded in death by her beloved husband of thirty years, Sam E. Wagner, in 1981; a son, Bruce Wagner; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Kreighbaum, Maxine Rees and Bernita Wagner; brothers-in-law, Howard Wagner and Tom Rees.
A funeral service will be held Friday, Dec. 4, at 1:30 p.m., in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover, with Rev. Lee Eilert officiating. Burial will be in Dover Burial Park. Following the committal, there will be a luncheon in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center on the Boulevard in Dover.
