Nancy Lou Keener

Nancy Lou Keener, 83, of Dover passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2014 at Aultman Hospital.

Born in Dover on January 21, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Mildred "Tommy" Stien. She was also preceded in death by her son; Thomas Keener on April 18, 1985; sister, Linda Siewert; and brother in law, Bernard Lawless.
She was a graduate of the Dover High School class of 1949. On January 9, 1953, she married the love of her life, Joe Keener, who survives.

Nancy was a secretary for the former Buehler Brothers in Dover. She also worked as the secretary for St. John's United Church of Christ in Dover, Dr. Blair Holder, and the Pathology Department at Union Hospital.

Nancy was an active member of the choir at St. John's United Church of Christ in Dover. She enjoyed sewing and bowling.

She will be sadly missed by her husband; Joe; son, Bob (Mary Lou) Keener of Dover; daughter in-law, Lori Yosick of Columbus; grandchildren, Sadie and Tommy Keener of Dover, Tony (Lacey) Keener of Charlotte, NC, Steven Cox of Columbus, Tina and Sheena Fronk of Columbus; great-granddaughter, Maggie Keener of Charlotte, NC; sisters, Marilyn Festi of Strasburg, Peggy Lawless of Dover, Beverly (Theron) Hershberger of Apple Creek; and her brother, Thomas (Barbara) Stien of Massillon.

A celebration of Nancy's life will be held at St. John's United Church of Christ on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at 11:00 am with Pastor Dotty Hartzell officiating. Interment will take place at Dover Burial Park. Following the service of committal, a meal will be served in the church fellowship hall. Friends are invited to call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 from 4-7 pm.
