Nancy Louise (Voshall) Contini, 83, of Dover died on Sunday, January 17, 2016.
Born on August 14, 1932 in New Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Delbert and Pauline (Bigler) Voshall. She was also preceded in death by her brother Paul Voshall and his wife Mary.
Nancy was a 1950 graduate of New Philadelphia High School, and afterward was employed as a secretary at Joy Manufacturing. On June 25, 1955, she married Lawrence J. Contini, Jr. When they started their family, she became a full time homemaker and was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Nancy and Larry celebrated 43 years of marriage until his death on July 3, 1998. She remained close to the tight-knit Contini clan through the years.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dover. As a young mother, Nancy volunteered many hours working in the St. Joseph grade school cafeteria. She was active in the parent teacher organization, serving as a room mother for each of her four children.
Nancy enjoyed traveling and was able to visit Alaska, Hawaii, Italy, and Switzerland with family members. She also went on numerous bus trips with friends from a local travel group. Nancy attended her high school class reunions and kept in touch with fellow classmates. She also enjoyed playing dominos and lunching with her friends. An avid reader, Nancy read one or two books per week and every page of her daily Times Reporter newspaper for as long as her family can remember. She also enjoyed solving the crossword puzzles and cryptograms. Above all, Nancy cherished time with her children and being "Nana" to her grandchildren.
She will be sadly missed by her children; Suzanne (Bill) Nappi of Cuyahoga Falls, Dan (Kris) Contini of Canton, Ken Contini of Canton, and Amy (Scott) Peters of Dover; two grandchildren, Nathan and Justin Peters of Dover; a niece, Cindi (Don) Wagstaff of New Philadelphia; two nephews, David Voshall of Uhrichsville, and Roger (Karen) Voshall of Parma.
