Nannette M. Tuers, age 79, of Strasburg, died Friday, November 29, 2013, in her home, with her loving family around her.
Born June 29, 1934, in Baltimore, Maryland, she was a daughter of the late Ludwig and Delores Lowe Volker. Nannette attended school in Annapolis, Maryland, and earned her high school diploma. As a young lady, she was employed by the W.T. Grant Co., and, on November 13, 1964, she was married Harry M. Tuers. Nannette was a loving homemaker, who enjoyed crocheting, crafts, the little pond at her house, bus trips, eagles and the Hallmark Channel. She and Harry moved to Strasburg in 1999 to be close to family.
In addition to her beloved Harry, survivors include her four daughters, Nancy Youngman of Navarre, Mary (John) Burkett and Bonnie (Norman) Barr, both of Beach City, and Cindy Fort of Parma; her seven grandchildren, Christopher Witter, Shyloah Rogers, Michael and Nicholas Burkett, Patricia Stalder, Charles Barr and Austin Fort; and her nine great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, Nannette was preceded in death by her great-grandson; her sister; and by her three brothers.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, December 4, at 7 p.m., in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, 232 N. Wooster Ave., Strasburg.
