Naomi R. Harper, 80, of Dover passed away peacefully on April 3, 2025, at the Hennis Care Center in Dover, Ohio.

Born on May 23, 1944, in Dover, she was the daughter of the late Lester and Ruth (Maurer) Baab. She was also preceded in death by her infant daughter, Kimberly Harper, and three sisters: Mary Ellen Baab, Martha Hagloch, and Arlene Wallick.

Naomi graduated from Dover High School in the class of 1963. She earned her degree in nursing from the University of Chicago. Naomi dedicated her life to caring for others, beginning her nursing career at Union Hospital, where she worked in the ER and the OB. She also worked for Castle Nursing Home in Millersburg and Community Hospice in New Philadelphia, where she served with compassion and dedication. Her unwavering commitment to her patients and their families was evident throughout her lengthy career, which also included many years at Hennis Care Center. She later retired from Allied Baltic Rubber in Strasburg.

As a healthcare professional, Naomi not only provided medical expertise but also offered comfort and support during some of life’s most challenging moments. Her ability to connect deeply with those she cared for brought solace to many families, making her a cherished member of the healthcare community.

Naomi's proudest accomplishments were her grandchildren, who brought her immense joy and satisfaction. She was a loving grandmother, always eager to share in their lives and achievements. Her family and friends will remember her not only for her professional contributions but also for her generous spirit and kind heart.

She will be sadly missed by her son; Gregory Harper of Dover; her brother, Marvin “Butch” (Lorraine) Baab of Florida; three grandchildren, Michael (Heather) Harper, Brittany (Justin) Domer, and Christopher Harper (Bree); her great-grandchildren, Amanda, Elizabeth, Braydon, Hailey, and Mason.
