Nellie D. Fisher

Nellie D. Fisher, 87, of New Philadelphia, died Friday, May 30, 2003, in Mercy Medical Center, Canton, following a brief illness.

Born Jul. 18, 1915, in Coshocton, she was a daughter of the late Charles J. and Malinda L. Ransopher Smith. Nellie attended Big Bend School in Uhrichsville, and wed Theodore W. “Ted” Fisher on Mar. 13, 1936. The couple were married fifty-five years at the time of Ted�(TM)s death in 1991.

Nellie was a homemaker. She enjoyed traveling, especially bus trips, and going to restaurants. She used to say, “I like to ride to eat.”

Survivors include a daughter, Dortha C. (Gary) Trachsel of Dover; a son, Charles “Ted” (Melody) Fisher also of Dover; eight grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Ted, she was preceded in death by a sister, Alice M. Emhoff; and by an infant brother.

A public graveside service will be held Monday, Jun. 2, 2003, at 1:30 p.m. in Evergreen Burial Park, New Philadelphia. Elder Glenn R. Carlisle will officiate. There will be no visitation. To sign the online register and share a fond memory of Nellie, please visit the funeral home�(TM)s Web site.
