Nellie M. Denmon Cain, 65, of Steubenville and formerly of New Philadelphia, died Saturday, July 2, 2005 at Union Hospital following an extended illness.
She retired from UPS in Steubenville after many years of service.
Born May 29, 1940 in Dover, Ohio she was a daughter of the late Melvin and Georgianna Pullum Denmon.
Nellie was a member of First Baptist Church in Dover and the Apostolic Lighthouse in Weirton, West Virginia. She enjoyed gardening, especially tending to her flowers, and she also loved spending time with her family and playing with her grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Nellie was preceded in death by her husband, James Cain, who died on December 2, 1988.
She is survived by two sons, James (Melanie) Cain III of Atlanta, Georgia and Larry Christopher Jason Cain of Steubenville; sister, Betty Rowe of Windsor, Connecticut; special sister, Doris Denmon of Maryland; brother, Larry Denmon of New Philadelphia; seven grandchildren, Cierra Marie Caul, Alayna Monree Cain, Jaria Jaynell Cain, Jayce Christopher Cain, Jerrick Scott Cain, James Andre Cain and Damber Cain.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 5, 2005 at 12 Noon in the First Baptist Church at Dover with Rev. Willie Sherrell officiating. Interment will be at the Dover Burial Park. Friends can call at the church one-hour prior to the service on Tuesday. The Toland-Herzig Funeral Homes and Crematory in Dover is handling the arrangements.
