Nellie Ramona Tucker

Nellie "Ramona" Tucker, 86, of Strasburg passed away at Union Hospital on Saturday, October 05, 2013 following an extended illness.




Ramona was born on March 25, 1927 in Cairo, West Virginia where she was raised. She was the daughter of the late George and Sarah Gaichel Waller. When she was sixteen years old, she married John Lewis Tucker, who preceded her in death on February 7, 2003. Together they had seven children. She is also preceded in death by her brother; Paul Waller; three infant grandchildren; and one infant great grandchild.




Ramona enjoyed working puzzles, and watching the wildlife in her yard. She especially enjoyed watching hummingbirds. One of her final wishes would have been for the Cleveland Indians to be her pallbearers because she loved them so much. She loved them whether they won or lost. Go Tribe!




She will be sadly missed by her children; John (Linda) Tucker of Grand Haven, MI, Terry (Brad) Mallett of Beach City, Sandy (Mike) Wikoff of Dover, Steve Tucker of Strasburg, Paul (Shirley) Tucker of Beach City, Darla Hanni Tucker of Strasburg, Debbie (Mike) Himes of Strasburg; brother in-law, Carl Tucker of Canton; sister in-law, Gloria Tucker of Louisville; 20 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren; niece, Nona Krumlauf of Canton along with many other nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Sassy.




A celebration of Ramona's life will take place at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover on Thursday, October 10, 2013 at 11:00 am with Pastor Rodney Phillips officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Byesville. Following the service of committal, a meal will be served at the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 from 4-7 pm.
