Nema V. Keener, 97, a long-time resident of E. Seventeenth St., Dover, died Thursday, Oct. 13, 2005, in the New Dawn Retirement Community, where she had resided the past five years.
Born June 1, 1908, in Clinton, Indiana, Nema was a daughter of the late William and Anna Laura Bidycofer Felgenhauer. She attended school in Somerdale, and, on Jun. 1, 1929, was wed toReuben C. Keener. Nema was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Dover, and was a life member of the Tuscarawas County Senior Citizens. In addition to caring for her family, Nema enjoyed gardening, especially growing flowers. She also also liked to crochet and try her hand at various crafts.
Survivors include two sons, Carson D. (Sue) Keener, and Carroll Z. (Linda) Keener, both of New Philadelphia; a grandson, Michael (Maria Rolli) Keener of New Philadelphia; a great-granddaughter, Natasha Ann Keener; three sisters, Rhoda Mae Seifer of Canton, Gloria Lee (William) Leeper of Leesville, Connie (Gene) Angus of New Philadelphia; a brother, David (Mildred) Felgenhauer of Sherrodsville; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Reuben, on Apr. 9, 1967; and by four brothers, Thomas, Dennis, Ferris and Virgil Felgenhauer.
Nema�(TM)s life will be celebrated in a service Monday, Oct. 17, 2005, at 11 a.m., in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home, Dover, with Pastor Jim Lewis officiating. Burial will be in Dover Burial Park. Following the committal, there will be a luncheon in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center on the Boulevard in Dover.
