Nona Mae Wilson

Nona Mae Wilson, 96, who resided at Oak Point Nursing Home at Baltic, died Thursday, December 6, 2007.

She was born March 27, 1911 at Pryorsburg, Kentucky, one of six children born to the late John Robert and Ida Mae Watts.

Nona had been a longtime member of the Dover Baptist Temple and loved attending worship and reading her Bible. Failing health had kept her from attending services over the last several years. She loved children and had a special way with youngsters. She especially enjoyed doting on her grandchildren and great grandchild and was very proud of all of the little ones in her ever-growing family.

On August 23, 1980, Nona was saddened by the loss of her husband, Curtis Wilson, Jr. The two had wed on July 10, 1925, and had shared 55 years of marriage together.

She will be missed by surviving family members, including: two daughters, Loudine Mix and Norma June Collins, both of Hazel Park, MI; a son, Larry (Dorothy) Wilson of New Philadelphia; four grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 20 great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Nona was preceded in death by; her son, John R. Wilson; three brothers; two sisters; and two grandchildren.

The Rev. Donald Snow will officiate a private family funeral to be held in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, New Philadelphia. Burial will follow in the East Avenue Cemetery. Following the burial, the family will enjoy a meal in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center on the Boulevard.
