Norina (Recinelli) Gold, 85, of Dover passed away on Friday, April 10, 2015 surrounded by her family.
Born September 25, 1929 in Dennison, Ohio she was the daughter of the late Giovanna (Cinaglia) and Giovanni Recinelli.
Norina graduated in 1947 from St. Mary's High School in Denison. Her years of employment at the Scio Pottery in Scio, Ohio and Furon Plastics in Dover, Ohio spanned 40 years and those working years helped to provide for the college educations of her husband and two daughters.
Norina spent countless hours with family genealogy having provided all of her family members with information and personal stories of their ancestors.
In 1947 Norina married her childhood sweetheart, Ken Gold and they celebrated 67 years of marriage until his passing on March 29, 2015. Norina held her family near and dear to her heart. She enjoyed time spent together at family gatherings and supporting her children and grandchildren in their various activities and interests. She taught them by example to develop a strong work ethic, love unconditionally, and always see the glass more than full!!!
She will be sadly missed by her two daughters; Renee (Rob) Sattler and Kim Galmish (Jeff) Locker; Grandchildren, Courtney (Matt) Rees, Brittany (Trey) Perkowski, Alanna (Russ) Erwin, Kyle Sattler and Kathleen Locker; two Great Grandchildren complete the family; Rocco Rees and Lillian Erwinall of Dover.
Other surviving family members are: sister, Mary DiMatteo; Russell and Leah Gold, John Gold, Louanne Gold, Ida Gold, Arlene and Harold Evans, Mildred and Don Frye, Donna and Rich Herman, Neva Brower along with special nieces and nephews, Connie (Alex) Kubik, Joanne (David) Carnegie, Susan (Pete) Peterson, Andrew DiMatteo, Dr. Dominic Bagnoli II (Dr. Vivian VonGruenigen) and great nephew, Michael Dimatteo. Several other nieces and nephews were special to Norina, as well as friends for over 50 years, Charlene and Wayne Swank, Bob and Dean Burkhart, Jocelyn and Bob Ely, Maxine and Glen Rothacher and Lucille and Raymond Rothacher.
In addition to her parents and husband, Norina was also preceded in death by her son in law, Gregory Galmish; brother in law, Mike DiMatteo and cousins Mary and Dominic Bagnoli I.
Friends are invited to call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover on Monday, April 13 from 4-6:45, a Christian Wake service will take place at 6:45. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Tuesday, April 14 at 10:30 am with Father Jimmy Hatfield officiating. Interment will take place at Fort Laurens Cemetery in Bolivar. Following the service of committal, a meal will be served at the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center in Dover.
Memorial contributions may be made in Norina's name to Community Hospice House, St. Joseph Catholic Church, or to an organization of the donor's choice.
