Norma I. Degen

Norma I. Degen, 85, of Dover passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at the Community Hospice House in New Philadelphia.

Born in Bucks Township on December 8, 1930 she was the daughter of the late Paul and Edna (Kutcher) Domer. She graduated with the class of 1948 from Baltic High School. On May 7, 1950 she married the love of her life, Paul Degen, who survives.

Norma worked in the bookkeeping Department of the former Reeves Bank, which is now Huntington for many years. She and Paul did volunteer work for Mobile Meals for many years. She was an active member of the AARP Chapter 3904 and the St. John's United Church of Christ in Dover where she was involved with the Women's Fellowship and Sarah Circle.

In addition to her husband, Paul, she will be sadly missed by her children; Jayne (Marion Jr.) Armstrong of Dover, and Steve (Vicky) Degen of Columbus; five grandchildren, Rachel, Sarah, and Leah Degen all of Columbus, Stephanie (David) Krantz of Boston, and Aaron Armstrong of Los Angeles, CA; two great-grandchildren, Rowan and Kieran Krantz of Boston; along with her sister, Carol (Clarence) McGinnis of Dover.

A celebration of Norma's life will be held at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at 2:00pm with Rev. Thomas Dunkle officiating. Interment will take place at Dover Burial Park. Following the service of committal, a meal will be served at St. John United Church of Christ. Friends can call at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00-2:00pm.
