Norma Jean McDonald, 66, of New Philadelphia died Tuesday, January 11, 2000 in Mercy Medical Center after a long illness.
She had worked in the assembly department for Handy & Harman, and had also worked for the former Sparta Manufacturing.
Born February 6, 1933 at Dover, she was a daughter of the late John and Mary Jane Chaney Shear.
Norma was a member of the Foursquare Gospel Church at Dover. She had also been a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Dover VFW.
Norma is survived by her husband, Donovan A. McDonald, Sr.

4 brothers and 4 sisters, Beatrice Lucas and Max Shear of Ormond Beach, FL, Sylvia Fiddler of Vero Beach, FL, Dean Shear of Sabastian, FL, Loren Shear of Sobrente, CA, Betty Menapace and Kenneth Shear of New Phila., and Audrey Selinsky of Bolivar.
In addition to her parents, Norma was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 15, at 1:00pm in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home, Dover with Rev. David Wing officiating. Interment will be in the Dover Burial Park. Friends may call in the funeral home on Friday from 6-9pm.
