Norma Jean Reip

N. Jean Reip, 80, of 1103 Baltzley Valley Rd. S.E., New Philadelphia, Ohio died Wednesday, February 14, 2007 in her home following a period of declining health.

Born June 6, 1926 in Akron, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Frederick Conrad and Jennie Gertrude Steese France. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ira George Reip who died December 22, 1991, an infant son, Richard Allen Reip and a brother, Donald “Bud” France.

Jean was a retired employee of Stone Container in New Philadelphia where she worked for over ten years.

She was a 1944 graduate of Dover High School and then graduated from Columbus Business College. She was a member of the Schoenbrunn Moravian Community Church and was a former Girl Scout leader and supporter of 4H. She was a devoted mother to her children and grandchildren and was a fan of television game shows. She was also a supporter of local charities.

She is survived by one son, Eric Reip of New Philadelphia; three daughters, Iris Hawk and Lori (Scott) Smith both of Dover and Tina Sillery of Wilmington, North Carolina; seven grandchildren, Tonya and Tyler Hawk, Lisa Lord, Chad Sillery, Erica Reip, and Jaclyn and Beau (Rosey) Smith; two brothers, Kenny (Linda) France and Robert (Carol) France all of Dover.

A funeral service celebrating Jean�(TM)s life will be held Saturday, February 17, 2007 at 1:30pm in the Schoenbrunn Moravian Community Church with Pastor Sue Koenig officiating. Interment will be in the Evergreen Burial Park at New Phila. A reception will follow services in the church fellowship hall. Friends may call Schoenbrunn Moravian Community Church on Friday from 6-9pm and Saturday from 12:30pm-1:30pm.
