Norma June (Poulton) Bosler, 83, of Dover passed away Monday, May 3, 2010 in her home following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born September 26, 1926 in Canton, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late George and Alice (Belknap) Poulton.
Norma was a trained beautician where she was co-owner of the former P&N Beauty Shop in Carrollton that was founded in 1947. She later worked for GTE in Marion for several years.
Norma was an active member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Dover where she sang in the church choir. She had many interests over the years but her primary passion was tennis where she actively played, coached, and instructed other players over the years. She played on three tennis teams while in Ft. Myers, Florida and won numerous tournaments. She also enjoyed playing the clarinet and performed in two bands in the Ft. Myers/Sanibel area for eight years that played "swing and big band" music. She and her husband, Glenn loved traveling and spending their winters in Florida as well as spending time with family and friends. They were members of the Tusco Travelers Club. She was also a member of the Carroll Order of Eastern Star in Leesville. She was a 1944 graduate of Sherrodsville High School.
She is survived by her husband, Glenn with whom she would have celebrated 60 years of marriage on October 19; two sons and a daughter Alan (wife, Becky) Bosler of Dundee, Alice (husband, Jim) Stephens of North Canton, and Kevin Bosler and Judy Patton of Dover; five grandchildren, Jason (Angie) Bosler, Andria (Ian) Bolden, Nathan (Jessica) Bosler, Andrew (Kristin) Hillhouse and Matthew Hillhouse; a sister, Doris Karam of Nokomis, Florida and nine great grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews.
Norma was preceded in death by her grandson, Adam Hillhouse.
A celebration of Norma's life will be held Thursday, May 6, 2010 at 11am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory at Dover with Pastor Lee Eilert officiating. Interment will be in the Dover Burial Park. A reception will follow in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center. Friends will be received on Wednesday from 6-8pm and Thursday from 10-11am in the funeral home.
