Norman J. Sugalski, 66, of New Philadelphia died Sunday, October 4, 2009 at Country Club Retirement Campus in Dover.
Born on May 10, 1943, in Cleveland, Ohio he was the son of the late Henry and Eleanor Kostozewski Sugalski. In 1961 he graduated from South High School in Cleveland, Ohio, where he had perfect attendance. He married the love of his life, Karen Mann, on November 19, 1966. Together they had six sons.
Norman retired in 2008 from Nickles Bakery after 31 years of service. While working at Nickle's, it was very rare for him to miss a day of work.
He was a very outspoken man. His family will always remember him as a bargain shopper, who never went to the store without coupons in hand.
Norman was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where he recently joined the Senior's Group.
In addition to his wife, Karen, Norman is survived by his six sons; Michael (Michelle) Sugalski of New Philadelphia, Timothy (Diane) Sugalski of Strasburg, Scott Sugalski of Dover, Nicholas (Tina) Sugalski of Dover, Casey Sugalski of New Philadelphia, and Bryan Sugalski and Bryan's girlfriend, Evelyn Figueroa of New Philadelphia; his brother, Ronald Sugalski of Brooklyn, Ohio, thirteen grandchildren; Jacquelyn and Mike Sugalski , Amber Murphy all of New Philadelphia, Dustin Thomas of Youngstown, Marissa, Paige, and Rebekah Sugalski of Strasburg, Samantha and Zane Sugalski of New Philadelphia, , Katelynn, Joshua, and Karolynn Sugalski of Dover, and Alexanderia Sugalski of Gnadenhutten; two great grandchildren, Caleb and Aubrie Garmany of New Philadelphia and many co-worker friends.
He leaves behind his three dogs; Ebony, Woo, and Gia, whom he loved very much.
Norman is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Mackinzie Nicole Sugalski who died in 2000.
Friends are invited to call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home in Dover on Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. Following calling hours, a meal will take place at the Church of Christ in Dover, 230 E. 4th St, Dover, Ohio 44622. A memorial Mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church will be held at a later date.
