Nova E. Harmon

Nova E. Harmon, 91, of New Philadelphia, died Saturday, April 12, 2008 at Schoenbrunn Health Care in New Philadelphia after a brief illness.

Born September 14, 1916 in Sherrodsville, Ohio she was the daughter of the late Denny and Iva (German) Dougherty. She married Robert Harmon, on July 19, 1941 in Texas. Robert preceded her in death on September 23, 1984.

Nova was a member of the St. John's United Church of Christ in Dover and was involved in the church's homemakers group. She was also a member of the Dover Moose Auxiliary. She loved to travel on senior bus tours. Just a few of the places she traveled were to Europe, Florida, Australia and an Alaskan Cruise. She enjoyed watching the Cleveland Indian's and Cleveland Brown's and was a very dedicated Ohio State Buckeye fan.

She is survived by her son, Charles (Sue Wright) Harmon of New Philadelphia and a sister, Doris Morrison of Dover.

In addition her parents and Robert, she is preceded in death by; a son, James Harmon; two brothers, Daniel Dougherty and Glenn German; a sister, Roberta Wilkin, and her granddaughter, Brandy Sue Harmon.

A celebration of Nova's life will take place at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory in Dover on Tuesday, April 15, 2008 at 11:00 am with Rev. Michael Lowry officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dover. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Monday from 7:00-9:00 pm.
