Olive G. Frantz

Olive G. Frantz, 86, of New Philadelphia died Monday, January 10, 2011 at New Dawn Assisted Living in Dover.

She retired from Union Hospital as a Ward Secretary after 28 years of service.

Born August 31, 1924 in Dennison she was a daughter of the late Ralph and Olive Ritchie Welch. Olive was also preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Frantz who died on November 2, 1982; daughter, Christine Smith, three brothers and one sister.

She enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading and watching TV.

Olive is survived by her son, Rick (Mary Jane) Frantz of New Philadelphia; grandson, Craig (Angela) Frantz of Uhrichsville; great granddaughter, Emily Grace Frantz; sister, Nellie Shinaberry of Mississippi and sister in law, Millie Welch of Sandusky.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at 1:30 pm in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at New Philadelphia with Pastor Bill Sowers officiating. Interment will be at the East Ave. Cemetery in New Philadelphia. Friends can call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
