Opal Mast, 86, of Beach City, and formerly a Strasburg resident, died Saturday, November 1, 2003 in the Mercy Medical Center at Canton.
Born August 13, 1917 at Trail, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Ammon & Malinda Hershberger Hostetler.
Opal was a member of the St. John United Church of Christ at Strasburg and active with the “Seasoned Seniors.”
She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Mast, who passed away November 24, 1989.
Survivors include: a son; Thomas Mast of New Philadelphia, granddaughter; Michele (Craig) Moskowitz of Toledo, great grandson; Kyle Moskowitz, three sisters-in-law; Ruby Abel & Dora Gavin of Orville and Eva Hostetler of Strasburg, many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Opal was preceded in death by: a daughter; Myrna Bryce, three brothers and five sisters.
A funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, November 4, at 3:00 p.m. in the St. John United Church of Christ at Strasburg with Rev. Gerald G. Schuessler officiating. Interment will be in the Grandview Cemetery at Strasburg. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until time of services at 3:00 p.m.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the St. John United Church of Christ, 516 N. Wooster Ave., Strasburg, 44680.
