Orliage “Smugs” Byrom, 73, of 322 Broad St., Dover, Ohio died Thursday, November 11, 1999 at Union Hospital following an apparent heart attack in his home.
He was a retired factory employee at the Reeves Steel Company in Dover where he worked for 26 years.
Born October 4, 1926 in Byromville, Georgia, he was the son of the late Caleb and Lielar Adams Byrom Sr.
Orliage was formerly an avid bowler and softball player and enjoyed fishing. He was baptized in the Baptist faith and was a World War II U.S. Army Veteran.
He is survived by his wife Darlene Ray Byrom with whom he celebrated 50 years of marriage July 24.

Two brothers Caleb Byrom Jr. of Weirton and Laffeyete Byrom of Steubenville and 14 grandchildren, two great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, Nov. 16, 1999 at 1:00 PM in the First Baptist Church at Dover with Rev. Christopher Lowery officiating. Interment will be in the Dover Burial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 6-9 PM.
