Oswaldo Quinilla Lux

Oswaldo Quinilla Lux, 22, of New Philadelphia, died Sunday, July 4, 2010.

Born December 1, 1987, in Aldea Chichaj, Canilla, Quiche, Guatemala, he was a son of Martin Quinilla and Isabela Pu Lux of Canilla. Oswaldo came to the United States just about three years ago, and was employed by Case Farms in Winesburg.

He was a member of St. Joseph Church in Dover, and was known for his sunny disposition. In addition to being a hard-worker, Oswaldo enjoyed playing soccer and billiards. He was a loving father and companion, and a good son, brother and friend.

In addition to his parents, survivors include his companion, Lindsay Peters of New Philadelphia; three children, Jimena A. Escobar, and Giovanni and Oswaldo A. Quinilla; a sister Maria Quinilla Pu of New Philadelphia; three brothers, Juan and Santiago Quinilla Pu, both of New Philadelphia, and Enrique Quinilla Pu of Guatemala; several nieces and nephews.

Oswaldo was preceded in death by a brother, Francisco Quinilla Pu, and by an infant brother, Pelico Quinilla Pu.

A funeral Mass will be held Saturday, July 17, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, Dover, with Fr. Matthew N. Hoover officiating. Burial will be in Guatemala.
