Otha Grissom, 81, of Dover passed away on Friday, May 8, 2010 following an extended illness. He was a very humble man who is finally at peace.
Born on December 18, 1928 in Searcy Arkansas, he was the son of the late Robert W. and Etha Mae Ferren Grissom.
He worked at U.S. Steel for over 23 years.
He married Ethel Stribling on November 5, 1949. Together they had two children. Taking care of his family was very important to him. He was a man who thrived being outdoors, working on his farm, fishing, and tending to his flower and vegetable gardens. He was also a handyman extraordinaire and a talented beekeeper.
In addition to his wife, Ethel, he is survived by his daughter; Janet (husband, Larry) Owen of Dover; his son, Kenneth Grissom of Canton; two grandchildren, Lauren Owen of Dover and Heather (husband, Logan) Randles of Sunbury, Ohio; and a great granddaughter, Evyn Randles of Sunbury, Ohio.
Two brothers, Luther and Ray Grissom, precede him in death.
In honoring Otha�(TM)s wishes, cremation will take place. A private memorial service will held at the Toalnd-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover with Pastor Chad Durfee officiating.
