Otis F. Erickson, 92, formerly of New Philadelphia, Ohio died Sunday, January 4, 2004 in Middlefield, Ohio following an extended illness.

He retired as an office manager for Commercial Honing Company in Dover.

Born September 14, 1911 in Dover, he was the son of the late Charles and Marie Seevers Erickson.

He formerly attended St. John�(TM)s United Church of Christ in Dover and enjoyed golf and bowling where he played in many leagues.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Shipley Erickson who died May 6, 2000. He was also preceded by a son, Rick D. “Skip” Erickson and a sister, Nancy Doll.

Otis is survived by two daughters Linda Palchick of Chesterland, Ohio and Gaye (Ramesh) Gavhane of Novelty, Ohio

Seven grandchildren Sean, Kelly, and Ryan (Liz) Palchick
Anamika, Amar, and Sarita Gavhane and Rick Erickson

Four great grandchildren Chase, Austin, Cole and Alex

Two sisters Rena Erickson and Selma Petranek both of Dover and a brother, George F. (Betty) Erickson of Benton, Kentucky.

A public graveside service will be held Friday, January 9, 2004 at 2pm in the Evergreen Burial Park in New Philadelphia with Rev. Jeffery R. Gerber officiating. There are no public calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association or the First United Church of Christ in New Philadelphia.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home in New Philadelphia.
