Patricia A. "Pat" Smith

Patricia A. “Pat” Smith, 73, of Wainwright, died Thursday, December 10, 2020, at Aultman Hospital following a brief illness.

Born May 24, 1947, in Dennison, Pat was the daughter of the late James and Vera Schwab. She graduated from Tuscarawas Warwick School in 1965. On April 15, 1967, Pat married the love of her life, William A. “Bill” Smith. In addition to raising her four children, Pat worked for The Evening Chronicle, The Times-Reporter, and WTUZ Radio. Her true love was her family. Pat was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking family dinners, taking vacations to Myrtle Beach and Hilton Head Island, and watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow up.

She will be dearly missed by her husband Bill, children Shelly (Sam) Cozart, Mike (Missi) Smith, Mark (Denise) Smith, Matt Smith, and Godson Brian Kohler, grandchildren Ashley (Mitchell) Gray, Nathan Cozart, Logan Cozart, Kacie Smith, Kyleigh Miller, Zack (Vanessa) Baker, Emily Smith, Grace Smith, and Andrew Smith, and great-grandchildren Parker Miller, Addysen Gasser, Colston Gasser, Chase Miller Catola, Kinsley Gray, and Carter Gray.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, James “Butch” Schwab, sister, Janice Alexander, and Godson Clay Kohler.

Pat’s family would like to thank Dr. John Paulowski and her nurses at Aultman Hospital for their amazing compassion and care in her final days.
