Patricia A. Porter

Patricia A. Porter, 87, of Strasburg passed away on Thursday, August 11, 2022 at Park Village Health Care Center of Dover.

Born on May 21, 1935 in Canton, she was the daughter of the late Glenn Hostetler and Clara (Eshman) VanMeter.

She married Terrance Porter, who preceded her in death in 1971. She was also preceded in death by her step-father; Corwin VanMeter; sisters, Beverly Hostetler and Marilyn Gump; and her great-grandson, Roman Failla.

Patricia worked as a nurse's aide at Hennis Care Center and as an aide at Harcatus Head Start in New Philadelphia. She was a proud foster grandparent. Patricia was a member of the First Moravian Church in Dover. She enjoyed collecting cookbooks, teapots, and enjoyed gardening.

She leaves behind three children’ Beth Ann (Randy) Crouse of Strasburg, Robert Smith of N. Canton, and Marla Seevers (fiance, Bob Calderone) of Green; seven grandchildren, Randy Lee, Tara, Ashley (Joe), Nathan (Jennifer), Corwin, Samantha (Jacob), and Nicholas; her great grandchildren, Kirstin, Emilio, Rony, Camilia, Adelina, Cade, Dionisio, Aubrey, London, Ashlynn, Austin, Ryker, Kaisley, Bryar; great- great grandchildren, Emilio Jr., Audryana, Sonny, and Oliver James; along with her step-brothers, Jeff VanMeter and John (Kay) VanMeter.
