Noted local watercolor artist Pat Crum died Monday morning, July 26, 2010 in her home following a five-year battle with multiple myeloma. Thanks to the loving vigil of her family and caregivers, she was able to stay in the home she cherished surrounded by her paintings.
Patricia L. Crum was born on September 9, 1927 to the late Carl and Ethel Chesshire Ogle in Marietta, Ohio and was then raised in Noble County. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Jean Glover and brothers, Willis, Robert and Kenneth Ogle. Patricia is survived by two daughters, Janalyn Huffman of Strasburg and Amy Crum (husband, Paul Klein) of Chicago; two sons, Gary and Don Crum of Canton; four grandchildren, Kate Sibila of Bay Village, John (Becky) Sibila of Strasburg, Hayley Crum of Canton and Iris Kohler of Chicago; two great grandchildren, Sydney and Addyson Sibila; two step granddaughters, Leanne (Paul) Lively of Columbus, Georgia and Kelly Rich of Canton; one step great granddaughter, Emily McKimmie; sister in law, Fern Ogle of Cambridge and several nieces and nephews complete the family. Patricia had many friends; her unique ability to make friends along with her famous sense of humor will leave a deep void in the lives of many.
A memorial service is being planned for a later date and anyone interested in celebrating Pat's life should contact a member of the family for details. The Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover are handling arrangements.
