Patricia J. "Patti" Mccoy

Patricia J. “Patti” McCoy, age 75, of Sherrodsville, passed away Thursday, December 7, 2017, in the New Dawn Retirement Community, Dover.

Born December 29, 1941, in Scranton, Pennsylvania, she was a daughter of the late Virginia Davis Pearson. Patti moved to Dover as a young lady and graduated from Dover High School. She married Richard A. McCoy on January 31, 1960. Patti was employed by Daniel’s Clothing Shop, Ohio Savings Bank and the Tuscarawas County Title Company, all of New Philadelphia.

Patti was a loving, kind and caring wife and mother. She taught her sons the value of family and friends. She especially enjoyed traveling with Richard to Elks’ events, as well as antiquing, cooking and gardening.

Survivors include her sons, Brent A. (Kiran) McCoy of Dublin, and Tal S. McCoy of Dover; her grandchildren, Ashley (Joe) Flynn and Brandon McCoy; her great-grandson, Sam Flynn; her sister, Lyn Austin; her in-laws, Robert (Pam) McCoy, Debbie (Terry) Cook, Stan (Bonnie) and Steve (Susan) Zimmerman, Leonia Smith and Skip (Sara) Zimmerman; and her nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews, including Peter Austin, Heidi (Craig) Huey, Maia Austin, Case and Emma Huey.

In addition to her mother, her husband, Richard, preceded Patti in death on October 24 of this year. Her brothers-in-law, Don and Gerald Zimmerman also preceded her in death.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 13, at 2 p.m., in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover, with Pastor John Morris of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Dublin, officiating. Immediately following the service, there will be a luncheon in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center on the Boulevard in Dover.
