Patricia J. (Pat) Petricola, 87, of Columbus, Ohio and a longtime Dover resident died Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2016 in her home following an extended illness.

Born July 29, 1929 in Seattle, Washington, she was the daughter of the late Clifford and Irene (Vaughn) Hinerman.

Pat retired in 1987 as secretary of the Dover Public Schools where she worked for 25 years.

She was an active member of the Grace Lutheran Church at Dover where she served as a deacon for 23 years and was a member of the Dr. Mary Baer Circle, J.C. Miller Bible Class and was a recipient of the Founders Day Award. She was a past president of the Dover Women's Study Club and was a member of the Dover-New Philadelphia Business and Professional Women.

She was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 55 years, Eugene N. Petricola who died Nov. 13, 2009. She will be sadly missed by her family that includes her daughter Paige (husband, James) Schwab of Worthington; two grandchildren, Jessica Schwab of Columbus and April (husband, Adam) Smith of Denver, Colorado and a great grandson, Oliver. Pat is also survived by her brother Gary (wife, Gloria) Hinerman of Anchorage, Alaska.

A private service will be held at the Garden of Peace Mausoleum in the Dover Burial Park with Dr. William Haggis officiating. There are no calling hours.
