Patricia Jean Miller, daughter of Norman and Hazel (Phillips) Zeller, was born on December 16, 1923 in Detroit, Michigan, and passed peacefully on June 24, 2018 at her home in Dover, Ohio surrounded by family.
At 94 1/2, Pat lived a full and beautiful life. She and her late husband, "Fizz", were married 67 1/2 years and together they raised four daughters. Family was Pat's pride and joy.
Over the course of her life, Pat enjoyed golf, tennis, bridge, cooking, gardening, knitting, reading and going out to dinner with "Fizz" and their good friends. Pat's friends were always very important to her.
Pat is survived by four daughters: Susie Miller Roush (John), Jackie Miller-Erskine (Mike), Wendy Miller and Lynn Miller; Nine grandchildren: Luke Miller Roush (Brooke), Mark Miller Roush (Natalie), Robert Andrew Erskine (Jenny), Benjamin Clayton Erskine, Michael Henry Erskine (Natalie), Anya Marie Miller, Rebekah Grace Miller (M.C.), Emily Leoni (Mark), Rachael Sizemore; and 10 great-grandchildren Sam, Molly, and Annie Roush; Tristan, Millie and Bo Roush; Riley and Maya Erskine; Ava Erskine; and Kaleb Sizemore.
Pat grew up in Flint Michigan, and with her family moved to Akron, Ohio as a senior in High school, and graduated from Akron Buchtel High. She went on to attend Akron University where she majored in Interior Design. During World War II, Pat worked in the administrative offices of the Bomber Plant in Cleveland, and served as an active volunteer with the American Red Cross. After moving to Dover, she was employed by Marsh Lumber before marrying "Fizz" on March 19, 1949. Pat was a member of Ruslin Hills Church, Union Country Club, and Quail Ridge Golf and Tennis Club.
While raising their daughters, Pat was active as a volunteer with the Dover Public Schools, Union Hospital Auxiliary, TWIG II, and the League of Women Voters. She was a beloved Brownie Leader, a fabulous cook, and a genius with knitting needles (warmest sweaters & mittens we ever had!) Her gardens on the farm where she and Fizz lived for 50 years were heavenly, and the flowers she grew there now grow in the gardens of her daughters.
Our Mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, favorite aunt, and dear friend will be sorely missed!
