Paul A. Ruegsegger, 62, of Strasburg died Saturday, November 19, 2005 at his home following a yearlong battle with Leukemia.
He retired from North Canton Transfer and had worked many years for Campbell Oil Company.
Born June 13, 1943 in Massillon he was a son of the late Dale and Elsie Adkins Ruegsegger.
Paul was a member of First Lutheran Church in Strasburg and the Beach City Army/Navy Club. He enjoyed sports, going on walks, working in the yard, and when he could, fix things around the house. He was also a Vietnam Veteran.
Paul is survived by his wife, Shirley Mayforth Ruegsegger with whom he celebrated 40 years of marriage on February 14, 2005.
He is also survived by two sons, Duane Ruegsegger of New Philadelphia and Scott (Shelly) Ruegsegger of Dover; daughter, Paula (Donald) Youngen of Strasburg; five brothers, Duane (Jean) Ruegsegger of Dundee, Fred (Shirley) Ruegsegger of Dundee, Bill Ruegsegger of Sugarcreek, Dean (Charlotte) Ruegsegger of Oklahoma and Jack (Ellie) Ruegsegger of Arizona; sister, Patricia (Raymond) Mizer of Baltic; seven grandchildren, Ryan, Brianna, Nathan and Joshua Youngen, Kyler, Kade and Kasey Ruegsegger.
He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Connie Pershing and Elizabeth Schlabach.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 23, 2005 at 11:00 am in the First Lutheran Church in Strasburg with Pastor Steven Woyen officiating. Interment will be in the Grandview Union Cemetery at Strasburg. Friends can call in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Homes and Crematory at Dover on Tuesday from 5-8 pm.
