Paul K. Miller

Paul K. Miller, 79, of New Philadelphia, died Wednesday, October 12, 2005, in New Dawn Health Care Center, Dover, following a long illness.

Born Apr. 30, 1926, in New Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Carl and Edith Schlafly Miller. Paul graduated from New Philadelphia High School in 1944, and served in the U.S. Mrechant Marines on hospital ships, most notably, the Charles Stafford. Following his time with the Merchant Marines, he was employed for thirty years by the Reeves Steel Co. of Dover as a boiler fireman.

Paul was a hardworking family man. He enjoyed woodworking, and fishing on Lake Erie during summers spent at the family�(TM)s cottage at Lakeside.

Survivors include his loving wife Betty O. Dudley Miller, whom he married on Nov. 1, 1947; three sons, Dan Miller of New Philadelphia, David (Lori) Miller of Stone Creek, and Jon Miller of Summerville, SC; three grandsons, Jeff, Blake and Ben Miller, all of Stone Creek; a brother, Delbert (Delores) Miller of New Philadelphia; sister-in-law, Jean (Burton) Beaber of New Philadelphia; brothers-in-law, Jerry (Joyce) Dudley of New Philadelphia, and Lynn (Sheila) Dudley of South Carolina; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Michael S. Miller, in 1962; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jack and Mary Dudley; and by a brother-in-law, Jack Dudley, Jr.

Family and friends are invited to call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home, 803 N. Wooster Ave., Dover, on Friday, Oct. 14, 6-8 p.m. Pastor Joe Schulz of the First Baptist Church, New Philadelphia, will officiate at a private service for Paul on Saturday.
