Paul R. Reynolds

Paul R. Reynolds, 69, of Dover, died Tuesday, March 15, 2011 following a long period of illness.

He was born February 25, 1942 at Sandyville, the son of the late Herman & Dorothy Brothers Reynolds.

A dedicated public servant, Paul's career began in the Navy. He served for ten years, including time spent during the Vietnam War. He later joined the Dover Police Department where he was an officer for the next 11 years. Following his time at Dover PD, Paul stayed in police work, with posts at the Department of Defense and later Homeland Security, both in Detroit, Michigan. Paul was also proud of the few years he spent working under his friend, Dick Herzig, at Toland-Herzig Funeral Home in Dover.

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Rosalie Goshorn Reynolds, whom he wed on December 21, 1960.

Other surviving family members include: two daughters, Sarah (Tab) Keplinger of Dover and Kelly (Steve) Gibson of Warner Robins, GA; a son, Rick Reynolds of Bolivar; three grandchildren, Grace Keplinger, Emily (Andrew) Keiser, and Brian Gibson; a great granddaughter, Iyana; five brothers, Virgil, Bill, Frank, Lester, and Gary; and a sister Mary; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, Paul was preceded in death by a brother, Carl.

Pastor Duane Houser will be joined by Paul's son-in-law, Tab Keplinger in leading a service that celebrates Paul's life on Saturday, March 19, at 10:00am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover. Friends may call in the funeral home one-hour prior to services. Following the service, a meal for family and friends will be held in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center.
