Paul S. Miller, 86, of Dundee died Sunday, January 6, 2013 at his home.
Born January 3, 1927 in Trail, Ohio he was a son of the late Elden and Alma Schnitzer Miller. Paul was also preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Miller; brother, Robert Miller and brother in law, Linus Yockey.
Paul proudly served his country with the US Army during WW II having been stationed in Japan. He was a member of the Dundee United Methodist Church and the Dover VFW. Paul retired from the Norfolk & Southern Railroad after 41 years of faithful service as a carpenter. He was also an exceptional finish carpenter and woodworker who loved making pieces for his family, especially granddaughter clocks, which all of his children and siblings have. In his younger years Paul enjoyed fishing and mushroom hunting, but his greatest love was his family, most of all, his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Paul will be sadly missed by his wife of 62 years, Ruth Beaber Miller whom he married on February 18, 1950; daughter, Judy (Ed) Dewitz of Oak Harbor, Ohio; brother, William (Susie) Miller of Dundee, sister, Marjorie Yockey of Reynoldburg; grandchildren, Trever (Karen) Miller, Gary (Kelly) Dewitz, Jessica (Dan) Brough; seven great grandchildren, Luke and Jake Miller, Emma, Cobi and Gage Brough, Amber and Drake Dewitz and daughter in law, Rose Schlabach and her husband, Jim.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 9 at 10:30 am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at New Philadelphia with Pastor Ray Garvin officiating. Interment will be at the Dundee Cemetery where the Dover VFW will conduct military graveside services. Friends can call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5-8 pm.
