Paul S. Pershing, 94, of Dover, died Friday, March 17, 2006, in the Bethany Nursing Home in Canton.
Born June 26, 1911 at Baltic, he was the son of the late Ulyssis S. & Emma Kline Pershing.
Paul was a hard worker. He retired from the former Prospect Drilling Company of Dover after 30 years of service as a dozer operator.
He was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church in Dover where he enjoyed being a part of the men�(TM)s breakfast club. Additionally, Paul was a life member of both the Dover Elks and the Dover VFW.
Paul honorably served our country in the Army during World War II. He earned a Purple Heart for being wounded in action as a member of the 209 Combat Engineers.
For nearly 57 years, Paul shared his life with his loving wife Margaret L. Yutzy Pershing, who died December 4, 2004
Survivors include: three nephews, Roger Miller of Flatwoods, KY, Loyal Miller of Zanesville and Wayne Harmon of West Lafayette; and a niece, Carol Pershing of Canton.
In addition to his parents and wife, Paul was preceded in death by: two sisters, Dorothy Miller and Ida Harmon; and a brother, David Pershing.
A ceremony celebrating Paul�(TM)s life will be held Monday, March 20, at 11:00 a.m. in Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover. Interment will be in the Grandview Union Cemetery, Strasburg. Friends may call in the funeral home one-hour prior to services.
