Paulette A. Polen

Paulette A. Polen, age 69, of New Dawn Health Care Center, Dover, died Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, in The Community Hospice House at New Philadelphia, following a long illness.

Born August 26, 1943, at Dover, she was a daughter of the late Paul and Edna Withrow Polen. Paulette attended Starlight School from the age of fourteen, and was employed by Starlight Enterprises. She was a member of the Dollar-and-a-Quarter Club, and the Good Shepherd's Class of New Philadelphia's First Baptist Church. Paulette enjoyed going out to eat, playing Bingo and music especially gospel.

Survivors include a sister, Kathleen (Paul) Jones of Tuscarawas; a brother, Byron (Twila) Polen of St. Clair Shores, MI; a niece and four nephews, as well as great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to her parents, Paulette was preceded in death by two sisters, Jacqueline Pineda and Deborah Wilde; a brother, Larry Polen; and a niece, Rachelle Jones.

Family and friends are invited to call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, 246 E. High Ave., New Philadelphia, on Thursday, Nov. 1, 6 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held Friday, Nov. 2, at 1:30 p.m. in the funeral home, with Hospice Chaplain Chad Durfee officiating. Burial will be in New Cumberland Cemetery. Following the committal, there will be a luncheon in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center on the Boulevard in Dover.
