Pauline L. ''Polly'' Froman

Pauline L. “Polly” Froman, 88, of Dover, died Wednesday, Jul. 23, 2003, in Park Village Health Care Center.

Born May 6, 1915, in Statesville, NC, she was a daughter of the late Jacob and Dora J. Nash Bost. Polly graduated from Statesville High School, and, on Apr. 2, 1939, married Harper W. Froman in Washington, DC. In Washington she was employed by the C & P Telephone Co., and later worked for the Washington Gas and Light Co., from which she retired. The couple moved to Tuscarawas County in 1957, where Harper was band director, concert band director and music director at area schools. Harper died in March of this year.

Polly was a member of St. John�(TM)s United Church of Christ, Dover; member and Past Worthy Matron of the Dover Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star; member of New Philadelphia Chapter 222 O.E.S.; and a member of the Literary Club where she served as secretary. She also played in several area Bridge clubs.

Survivors include two sisters, Oma Johnson and Bea Sudduth, both of Maryland; a brother U.E. Bost , also of Maryland; many nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Barb McGriff of Jacksonville, FL.

In addition to her parents and husband, Polly was preceded in death by three sisters, Alma Alexander, Cleta Morrison and Lucille Freeze; and by a brother, Holland Bost.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, Jul. 26, at 2 p.m. in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home, Dover, with Rev. Steve Daniels officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Union Cemetery, Strasburg. Visitation will be Saturday, 12:30 �" 2 p.m., in the funeral home. New Philadelphia Chapter 222 O.E.S. will conduct services at 1:30 p.m. Saturday.
