Pauline M. Lampe, age 101, of Beach City, died Tuesday, September 2, 2014, in Community Hospice House at New Philadelphia. Pauline had been blessed with good health all of her life, and lived independently in her own home until two short months ago.
Born February 28, 1913, at Dover, she was a daughter of the late Silas and Nealie (Putt) Weldon. Pauline attended Dover High School and was employed by the former F.W. Woolworth Co. at Dover. Additionally, Pauline and Paul operated Lampe's Fruit Market at Dover and Beach City. Pauline was later employed by Massillon State Hospital from which she retired.
First and foremost, Pauline was a loving homemaker and her life revolved around her family. She was a wonderful cook, and canned produce in her younger days. Pauline was a member of the YMCA at Dover for many years, driving three days a week from Beach City to exercise. She also enjoyed time spent at the Beach City United Methodist Church quilting and baking cookies.
