Pauline T. VanNest, 92, of Dover, died peacefully Thursday, July 21, 2005 in Union Hospital.
She was born December 13, 1912 at Baltic, and was raised by the late Harvey & Hattie Reeves Kendle.
Known as a hard worker, Pauline spent 11 years working as a custodian at Dover High School and had also been employed at East Sparta Ceramic Tile.
Pauline was a longtime member of the First Church of the Nazarene at New Philadelphia.
She was preceded in death by two loving husbands, Raymond Paul Mathews who died in 1949, and Lawrence “Jack” VanNest who passed away in 2001.
Survivors include: two daughters, Antoinette Todd and her companion Mel Gibbons of East Sparta, and Janet Incarnato of Dover; two sons, David Mathews of Dover and Terry VanNest of the home; 13 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husbands, Pauline was preceded in death by a great-great grandson, Jamie Lee and was especially brokenhearted by the loss of her daughter, Debra A. “Debbie” VanNest who died January 23 of this year.
Her life will be celebrated in a ceremony being held Monday, July 25 at 11:00 a.m. in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover with Rev. Bill Waltz officiating. Interment will be in the Ridgecrest Memory Gardens at Dover. Following the burial, a fellowship meal will be served for family and friends in the First Church of the Nazarene at New Philadelphia. Friends may call in the funeral home on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. and one-hour prior to services on Monday.
