Peggy Capozella, of Dover, died May 2, 2006 at Union Hospital in Dover. Born on July 27, 1921, in Mineral City, she was the daughter of the late William and Hazel Zimmer Martin.
Peggy worked at Reeves Mill during World War II and was a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church in Dover, where she managed the rummage sale for over 25 years. She was a member of the Woman�(TM)s Society Lois Circle and was named the United Methodist Woman of the year in 2000. Peggy enjoyed reading books, and instilled the love of reading in her three children. She spent much of her time volunteering for Mobile Meals since 1973. She was also a Tuscarawas County Precinct Worker for 26 years, a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, and sold poppies every year for disabled veterans.
Peggy is proceeded in death by the love of her life, Anthony Capozella, whom she met while he was playing in his band.
Survivors include Peggy�(TM)s three children, two sons; William (Sue) Capozella of Cheyenne Wyoming, James (Peggy) Capozella, of Petersburg Indiana, a daughter; Carol Diorio, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, two grandchildren; Michele (Sean) Coffey, Lance (Glenda) Capozella both of Petersburg Indiana, three great grandchildren; Lance, Glenn, and Jacob Capozella all of Petersburg, two step-grandchildren; five step-great grandchildren; five nieces; Diana, Donna, Nancy, Anita, Mary Lou; a nephew; Jimmy; a sister-in-law; Kate “Nettie” Martin, and a cousin; Vivian.
In addition to her husband and parents, Peggy is preceded in death by: two brothers; Web and Russ Martin, two sisters; Lucille Martin, and Maxine Dugan, and a daughter-in-law; Bonnie Capozella.
A service in Peggy�(TM)s memory will be held at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover on Friday, May 5, 2006 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Larry Black Officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, May 4, 2006 from 6-7 pm and on Friday from 12:00-2:00 pm. Interment will take place in Dover Burial Park. Following the service of committal, a luncheon will be held at First United Methodist Church in Dover.
