Peter J. "Jim" Samsa, 59, of Strasburg, died Friday in his home following a two-year illness.
He was a machine operator who retired from the Timken Company after 39 years of service.
Born August 25, 1940 at Dover, Jim was the son Margaret (Dreher) Samsa of Dover, and the late Peter Samsa.
Strasburg was Jim's home. He was a graduate of Strasburg High School, lived and raised his family in town. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church at Strasburg and had been a member of the Strasburg Fire Department for over 30 years. He had been owner of Samsa Fabricating. An Eagle Scout, he enjoyed bowling and was a big NASCAR fan.
In addition to his mother, Jim is survived by his wife Sandra "Sandy" Myers, whom he wed on September 17, 1960.

Jim was also preceded in death by a sister, Christine.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 21, at 10:00am in the First Lutheran Church at Strasburg with Pastor Fred W. Grosse officiating. Interment will be in the Grandview Union Cemetery at Strasburg. Friends may call in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home, Strasburg on Sunday from 2-5pm.
