Philip S. Czerepak, 84, of New Philadelphia, Ohio died Thursday, September 26, 2002 at Union Hospital following a sudden illness.
Phil retired as Manager of the former Dover Hardware Company where he worked for over forty years.
Born May 17, 1918 in Weirton, West Virginia, he was the son of the late John and Catherine Dziki Czerepak.
He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dover. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Secular Franciscans, Tuscarawas County YMCA, former member of Union Country Club and Five Waters Golf Course, and was an avid golfer. He served in the US Air Force during World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Augie Marino Czerepak with whom he celebrated 61 years of marriage on May 3.
He is also survived by one son, David (Cindy) Czerepak of Dover and a daughter, Mary (Jim) Elco of New Philadelphia. Three grandchildren, John (Tara) Czerepak of New Philadelphia and Jack and Katie Elco both of New Philadelphia. Two sisters, Verna (Earl) Martinelli and Helen (Trent) Ciarrocchi both of Weirton, West Virginia and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two nephews.
A funeral mass will be held Monday, September 30, 2002 at 11 am in the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dover with Fr. William Arnold officiating. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery at Dover where the Dover VFW will conduct military graveside services. Friends may call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home in Dover on Sunday from 2-5 pm.
