Phillip P. (Margletta) Miragliotto, 87, of Dover died Sunday, August 5, 2001 at Union Hospital.
He was the owner/operator of Phillips TV and Repair in Dover for many years, and he initiated the first Antenna Cable Co. in Dover.
Born August 9, 1913 in Cleveland he was a son of the late Cono and Catherine Gagliardi Miragliotto.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, served as an usher, church council, Knights of Columbus and devoted his time and talents to many activities within the church. He was very community oriented having delivered food for Mobile Meals and hand crafting wooden toys for underprivileged children. He enjoyed track, ice-skating, tennis, soccer and golf, but took a special interest in boxing, where he later became a Golden Glove Champion. He was also a Navy Veteran of WW II. Phillip was a loving father and grandfather who loved being with his family.
Phillip was preceded in death by his wife Irma Zuchegno Margletta who died on August 4, 1986.
He is survived by a son: Leonard and Mary Jane Margletta of Dover
Three daughters: Kathy and Lynn Reardon of Bettendorf, Iowa
Andrea White of Dover
Phyllis Margletta with whom he resided.
Two brothers: Angelo Miragliotto of Wadsworth
Joseph and Loretta Miragliotto of Corona, California
Sister: Mary Grace and Joseph Vitale of Van Nuys, California
Companion: Barbara Tinnirello
Eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, August 9, 2001 at 1:00 pm in the St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. William Arnold officiating. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery at Dover, where the Dover VFW will conduct military graveside services. Friends can call in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home at Dover on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm, with Rosary services starting at 8:30 pm.
