Priscilla Ann (Campbell) Moore, 80, of Dover, passed away peacefully at Union Hospital on September 29, 2022 following a brief illness. While her family takes comfort that she is at peace, her loss will be deeply felt and the ripples of her life will carry on to all who were blessed to know and be loved by her.
Born in New Philadelphia on January 16, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Priscilla Campbell. While her career had her employed at Alsco in Sugarcreek and CMA in Bolivar, Priscilla’s contributions to the world came in the forms of her passions, her personality, and her presence. Priscilla deeply loved her family, the Cleveland Guardians, playing cards with her friends at Seton Squarel, being an avid reader, and Harry Potter. While she would never admit to her age, the joy she found in simple things and the people around her always kept her young at heart.
Priscilla embodied love and affection, and she never hesitated to help anyone she could to make their lives better. While she had no children of her own, she was quick to adopt anyone within arm’s reach as one of her own whether she had only just met you or known you for decades. She was the person who would always guide you back to the bright side while providing you calm in whatever storm you were facing as both a confidant and cheerleader. Her kindness was an integral chord to who she was, as evidenced by the way she selflessly cared for her terminally-ill brother until his passing and then stayed to help raise his family.
She is survived by her loving nieces Kimberly Daniels, Melissa Solomon, and Heather (Tim) Eckert; sister-in-law Debra Campbell; and many great & great-great nieces and nephews who were all so deeply loved by their Aunt Priscilla.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank Moore; her brother, Joseph W. Campbell and sister, Edith Mae Campbell; nephew, Garry Daniels; and great-great nephew Jacob McGuire.
While the day of her passing was cloudy and cool, the brilliant sunsets of “sky blue pink” (as she would call them) in the days that followed her passing seemed to glow all the brighter in her honor and memory. If you loved or were loved by Priscilla, her family invites you to celebrate her life on Friday, October 7, 2022 at 1:30 pm in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover. Visitation will take place from 12:30-1:30 pm with graveside services at Evergreen Burial Park immediately following. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that those impacted by her life cheer a little bit louder for the Guardians, be kind to a stranger, and carry on her legacy of love to those around them.
