R. Dennis Potschner

R. Dennis “Denny” Potschner, 65, of 209 N. Main St., Navarre, Ohio died Wednesday, June 30, 2004 in the Justin T. Rogers Care Center in Akron following an extended illness.

Denny was a master mechanic for Martin Enterprise in Cleveland until illness forced his retirement. He also previously worked for the Cleveland Land Development, Hechett Engineering Company in Canton and Superior Demolition in Cleveland.

Born October 25, 1938 in Dover, he was the son of Wilma Schwarm Potschner of Dover and the late Robert R. Potschner who died June 25.

Denny was a member of the St. Paul�(TM)s United Church of Christ in Navarre, Social member of the Navarre VFW, and the Cypress Chapter #604 Masonic Lodge in Strasburg. He was formerly a fireman with the Beach City Volunteer Fire Dept., and former Scout Leader of Troop 928 of the Boy Scouts. He was a 1956 graduate of Dover High School. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping with his family.

In addition to his mother, Denny is survived by his wife Jane Eash Potschner with whom he would have celebrated 47 years of marriage on August 30. He is also survived by three children Robin Dreher of Dover, Jill (Jeff) McGill of Navarre, and William “Toby” Potschner of Brewster. Four grandchildren Matthew, Marcus, and Michael Dreher and Cody McGill; one great grandson, Xavier Dreher; one brother, Jeff Potschner of Dover and a sister, Sherry (Gail) Herman of Dover; Two sisters in law Joan (John) Zeigler of Strasburg and Judy (Jim) Six of Menifee, California along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services celebrating Denny�(TM)s life will be held Saturday, July 3, 2004 at 3pm in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home at Dover with Rev. Kate Walsh officiating. Interment will be in the Ridgecrest Memory Gardens. Friends may call Saturday from 1-3 pm in the funeral home with Masonic services at 12:45 pm.
