R. Eileen Slater, 76, of 1022 Jaycee St., N.W., New Philadelphia, Ohio died Thursday, September 26, 2002 in the Morning View Care Center following a brief illness.
She was formerly an adoption investigator for Judge George Demis and had previously been the Asst. Manager of Associate Finance in New Philadelphia for seventeen years.
Born November 16, 1925 in Port Washington, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Joseph A. and Eva Mae Vorhees Linard.
She was a 65 year member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church in New Philadelphia. She was a former member of the Business and Professional Women.
Eileen was preceded in death by her husband, Blaine D. Slater who died March 22, 1988.
She is survived by her son and daughter in law, David K. and Alice N. Slater of Dover; two grandchildren Matthew W. (Deloris) Burris of Freeport and Michele Hartline of New Philadelphia; four great grandchildren Brianna, Alexis, Lauren, and Tori.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Verna Mae Linard and three brothers, Robert Paul Linard, Alva Ray Linard, and Charles Walter Linard.
Funeral Services will be held Monday at 1 pm in the Otterbein United Methodist Church in New Philadelphia with Pastor James Taggart officiating. Interment will be in the East Avenue Cemetery. Due to renovations in our New Philadelphia funeral home, friends may call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home in Dover on Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm.
